Case studies
are written by nurse experts and have been peer reviewed for
accuracy and completeness. Each case study is designed to
enhance the nurse’s ability to make critical decisions
while managing complex health care situations. Web links to
abstracts, full text articles, and research/knowledge bases
are included.
ARTICLE
FORMAT
The Online
Journal of Knowledge Synthesis for Nursing (OJKSN) is
a peer-reviewed, online journal dedicated to the scientific
advancement of evidence-based practice (EBP) in health care.
OJKSN articles are full text summaries of research
on clinical topics to guide nursing practice and research.
Suggestions are offered to facilitate the clinical implementation
of practice guidelines. Links to abstracts, full text articles,
and research/knowledge bases are included.
MODULAR
COURSE FORMAT
Module courses are written by nurse
experts and have been peer reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
The courses are designed with each module containing either
stand-alone content or sequential content related to the topic.
The learner can enter and exit the learning activity until
all modules and assignments are completed. Web links to abstracts,
full text articles, and research/knowledge bases are included.
INSTRUCTIONS

a distance learning activity by clicking on the title. Read
the distance learning activity. (To navigate through the
online education activity and associated links, use the
browser's 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons.)
- References
linked to other Internet sites may be reviewed at any time
by clicking on the underlined link.

Complete the distance learning activity questions. A minimum
score of 80% is required to earn continuing education credit.
If your score is less than 80%, you may retake the test.
- Complete
the online continuing education evaluation form.
- If
you wish to earn continuing education credit, complete the
registration form.
- Select
"Submit" and print your continuing education certificate.
CREDIT
Education offerings are approved
for the continuing education credits listed for each offering.
AUDIENCE
The Sigma Theta Tau International’s
online distance education activities are designed to advance
clinical reasoning, decision-making, and judgment of practicing
nurses.
ACCREDITATION
AND PROVIDER NUMBER INFORMATION
Sigma Theta Tau International
is accredited to provide continuing education in nursing by
the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
ANCC does
not issue provider numbers to organizations that are accredited
providers of continuing education for nurses. You may attach
a copy of your certificate and the program objectives when
submitting your ce documentation for either licensure or certification.
